발표제목: Understanding of Ultra-small Nano Sensors for Cancer Detection and Trafficking

발표초록: Detection of small numbers of cancer cells, to achieve early detection and prevent metastatic cancer, is one of the great challenges in oncology. Nanoparticles allow us to detect small numbers of cancer cells and ligand, such as antibody, is commonly attached to nanoparticles for specific targeting of cancer cells. However, concerns about long-term toxicity of nanoparticles have restricted their translation into clinical practice. I address this concern by using nanoparticles within the size that the kidneys are capable of filtering them out of the body. To translate clinically, photoacoustic imaging evaluates such small particles. In addition, antibody-mediated nanoparticle uptake in cellular level is addressed to understand intra- and extracellular trafficking.
